“Untitled IX ” by Moniem Hamza

“This carving was found on the South side of the Lion Temple on Naqa archeological site in North Sudan containing the ruins of the Meroitic Kingdom .This Temple was dedicated to the God Apedemak.It was built around 250BC by King Arnekhamani one of the first kings to be buried in Meroe.The carving depicts from the left King Arnekhemani ,Queen Amani Shakheetu and her maid.In the bottom under the throne of the queen are the sacrifices that were presented to the kings for blessing.”
